My day yesterday ended at the Baby Buggy Bedtime Bash hosted by Baby Buggy founder Jessica Seinfeld (fyi - Jerry was there, too). The event was filled with the most fashionable mommies in NYC. Sarah Jessica Parker was there (in a shrunken blue leather jacket and tight cigarette pants ) and was so sweet. Her date for the evening was her cute little boy James Wilke - no entourage whatsoever. So normal that it's practically not.

Here is what I learned last night: don't dress casual even if it's supposed to be a "casual" event. Instead, wear head-to-toe JCrew (maybe a floor-length dress in a daytime fabric) with a big necklace - done. Or, if you're preggers, you can't go wrong with something from Veronique Maternity!

EAST END KID: baby buggy bash

By Emily Hart Post With a little help from Katlean de Monchy and David Post

Mom, Dad and I went to the Baby Buggy party near Dad's office the other night. I know Sasha - her mom Jessica is the person who made Baby Buggy into a big success and, of course, you know her dad. A lot of Sasha's friends were there with their parents, too. We got to the party where there were giant sized balloons outside. We walked in and then took a Thomas Train up to the food and entertainment. After the eats my school friends and I went to the back to hear the live music stopping at beds along the way for a little jumping like monkeys. We listened to Dan Zanes sing from our special spot - a bed near the singer. Then, I ran down to be in the front to see one of my favorites, Magic Al, do his show. He was so funny. The party was to promote Project Safe Sleep, which gives cribs and bassinets to new moms who don't have a lot of money. Baby Buggy helps moms and their kids all around New York City - isn't that cool? Oh, I was wearing my Chinese pajamas, which must have looked funny when we were walking to the party.

A Seinfeld Baby Bash Plus! Elle's country-chic BBQ for Sarah Jessica Parker (EAST HAMPTON) There goes the neighborhood. Sarah Jessica Parker, who escapes the frenzy of the city on the weekends for the Bridgehampton cottage she shares with Matthew Broderick and their son James Wilke, had a bit of the urban jungle follow her out East over the weekend.

The actress and designer, who’s set to start filming the movie version of Sex and the City this September and who recently launched her Bitten clothing line, was one of an exclusive group of friends invited to the Further Lane estate of Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld Saturday night for the latter’s 2nd-annual Baby Buggy Infant Gear Fund dinner. Sponsored by Ferragamo, the exquisitely executed affair featured gobos of Florence from Fiera, the brand’s new children’s book (with a portion of proceeds benefiting the charity), projected onto the roof of the white tent while the fashionable crowd savored farmstand heirloom tomato salad with mozzarella, Branzino with roasted garlic and lemon, sweet corn, and tomato flatbread. “It’s like a big family reunion or wedding,” compared Adelina Wong Ettelson, “but without the toasts, toasts, toasts.” The yummy mummy to son Tyler spent much of the evening chatting up co-host James Ferragamo, who was joined by his first cousin, Maria Sole, and sister, Vivia Ferragamo. “It’s a real pleasure to collaborate with Jessica and Baby Buggy on this event, and to be able to give a serious purpose to a fun evening,” he offered. “With the launch of our new children’s book, and through the work of Baby Buggy, Ferragamo will be able to help children in a very real way.”

Dennis and Coralie Charriol Paul, Stefanie Greenfield, Alexandra Wentworth,

Narciso Rodriguez, Alec Baldwin, and Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa (accessorized in Ferragamo) were among the bold-faced group of about 120 on hand to toast Seinfeld’s pet charity, which provides much-needed items like strollers, diapers, and supplies to needy families. Beth Buccini carried the night’s cause down to her vintage Ossie Clarke dress. “I bought it at Lucky Shops last year, which is benefiting Baby Buggy again this year,” she said. “It still has the Resurrection tag on it! Look!”

While last year her husband chided her over her “little charity,” the comedian, dashing in a Ferragamo shirt and tie, got up and made a second speech before guests savored mini-ice cream sandwiches, sorbet cones, and trays of Jacques Torres chocolates were passed around the couple’s renovated 17th-century barn.

“For thirty dollars you can buy a crib and help out a family,” he said. “Raise your hand if anyone wants to donate another crib.” By night’s end, nearly 1,000 additional cribs had been generously purchased. “I don’t mean this in a bad way, but Jessica is what a real socialite is,” said one guest. “She creates this charity, stands behind it, and what she does, she does 150 percent and perfectly.”Including wrangling one tony girlfriend to support her cause. Ellen Barkin, clad in full polka-dotted fashion glory, arrived with Bryan Lourd just in time for dessert. Fortunately for her, she left as giddy as a schoolgirl with her gifted Ferragamo tote bag complete with beach towel.
Parker’s Hamptons excursion continued Sunday, when Elle’s Robbie Myers and Joe Zee hosted what was originally billed to be an “intimate” barbeque at the home of ad guru Trey Laird, celebrating the magazine’s August covergirl. That is, until 400 guests turned out, only adding more body heat to the already humid afternoon. Clad in a Derek Lam resort collection dress and signature Fred Leighton jewels, Parker was ever the gracious guest, complimenting the idea of having a family party where the moms and dads could enjoy a cocktail while their kids overdosed on ice cream and balloons.

Holed up with Laird, clad in a simple polo shirt and dark madras shorts, Parker, who was joined by Rodriguez, Seinfeld, and Wentworth from the night before, wasn’t the only one gazing at the trend-setting creative director’s manicured gardens and gleaming vintage Mercedes convertible parked in the driveway. Almost as impressive transportation-wise were David Neville and Gucci Westman, who arrived by limousine with their new baby Dash, the same age as Titus Rellie, who was also there with father Euan Rellie in tow.
Viktor & Rolf’s Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, Kim Vernon, Lori Goldstein, Ashleigh Verrier, Nacho Figueras, Tim and Helen Schifter, Jodi Della Femina, Malcolm Carfrae, and Celerie Kemble were among the other guests on hand, helping themselves to piles of corn on the cob, shish kebabs, and watermelon—not to mention thirst-quenching fruit punch.

The Beach Goes On

The Full Report From a Festive Weekend in the Hamptons

"Welcome to the No. 1 celebrity party pad in the U.S, according to OK! magazine," announced Jerry Seinfeld, in nearby Amagansett, as he welcomed guests to his oceanfront manse on 12 acres. The occasion: a summer dinner sponsored by Ferragamo in support of Baby Buggy's Infant Gear Fund, the nonprofit organization founded by his wife, Jessica, in 2001. "This is how we always live out here. This is a very typical dinner for us," Seinfeld joked. Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, the busy Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Ellen Barkin, Bryan Lourd, James and his sister Vivia Ferragamo, and Ali Wentworth joined over a hundred well-heeled guests, many of whom were expecting babies themselves, for a meal of tomato and mozzarella salad and branzino. They dined under a tent decorated with illustrations from Ferragamo's new children's book, Fiera, the proceeds of which will be donated to Baby Buggy. Later, everyone was encouraged to retire to a renovated "party barn" from the eighteenth century to dance the night away. Tunes came courtesy of Paul Sevigny. Though she was wearing Ferragamo, Jessica Seinfeld sported an unexpectedly frugal accessory: bracelets from Parker's new fashion collection, Bitten. "It's changed my life," she enthused of the low-priced line. "I live in it. I've told her to make stuff for men and kids." As for concerns that Parker and Broderick might be upset that their nearby estate was only OK! magazine's No. 9 celebrity party pad? "There's no tension," Jerry Seinfeld said.

Celebs lead high life in the Hamptons

By Donna Freydkin, USA TODAY

EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. — A whole lot of uptown girls grooved to Billy Joel Saturday night.
Renee Zellweger, Kelly Ripa and Mary-Kate Olsen danced as Joel performed at the Social @ Ross concert, a series of events that is becoming the marquee bash of the already glitzy Hamptons party circuit. The musical extravaganzas previously featured Prince and the Dave Matthews Band, and with tickets selling for $4,000 each, it's no wonder the night is a lavish one.
Zellweger clapped her hands and danced with a mystery man to Joel's encore of Piano Man. Ripa grooved along with her husband, Mark Consuelos. Alec Baldwin stood in the VIP section with his arms around a young mystery blonde. But the most enthusiastic celebrity was a fedora-wearing Olsen, who skipped the VIP section to dance in front of the stage, pumping her fists in the air during Movin' Out. And on the even more low-maintenance end, Amy Poehler and her husband, Will Arnett, patiently waited for a shuttle bus to take them back to their car.

Shall we dance?: Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa boogie at Saturday's Social @ Ross concert.
"We came here for Prince and it was terrific, and we decided we'd come back. Billy Joel is the consummate performer," Ripa says.
The early afternoon was all about horses. Brooke Shields, with her husband, Chris Henchy, and daughters Rowan, 4, and Grier, 1, and their nanny in tow, hosted Saturday's Mercedes-Benz polo tournament. "It's becoming somewhat of a tradition for us to come out here in the summer," Shields says.

So is she part of the star-studded social scene? "We're lucky to be able to be part of all the scenes, so I'm part of every different aspect of it. It's a scene no matter where you go, no matter (which) coast you're on," Shields says.
In fact, Shields and Henchy are moving back to New York later this summer, "finally," says Shields, who's starring in Lipstick Jungle, which shoots here.
Her co-star Kim Raver, seven months pregnant with her second child (she doesn't know the sex), braved the humidity because "Brooke and I are good friends."
The past few months have seen plenty of star-studded action in the Hamptons. Steven Spielberg, Ripa and Jerry Seinfeld own spreads in the area. You can spot boldfaced names eating at local institutions, such as East Hampton's Nick & Toni's (Spielberg and Jon Stewart), and Della Femina (Uma Thurman), or relative newcomers like Madame Tong's (Stewart). Ripa, Christy Turlington Burns, Edie Falco and Mandy Moore hit the July 28 Super Saturday — the Hamptons version of a garage sale — to benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
Still, Ripa says, "we're not too much involved in the scene. We really stay home with the kids and take them to things, and once in a while come to things like this for the grown-ups."
Kerry Washington partied at a Creative Coalition bash in East Hampton on July 29, while Oscar winner Forest Whitaker and his wife, Keisha, traveled east for the Art for Life brunch at Russell Simmons' East Hampton home. The Seinfelds' pals — including Ripa, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick — stopped by their Amagansett spread for the July 28 party for Jessica Seinfeld's charity, Baby Buggy.
Raver, meanwhile, is stunned by how glam the Hamptons have become. "Oh, it's changed so much. Now, for us, it's about going to a seafood shop, throwing it on the barbecue and having friends over."

Rich Cribs: Why Alexandra Wentworth summers in E. Hampton

BY LAURA MANN

Last summer's incident with a surly snapping turtle in Mecox Bay forced actress Alexandra Wentworth to retreat to "the well manicured docks of the Hamptons elite" when trolling for crabs. "But only when I know they're not home," she jokingly tells Hampton Style Magazine in the Aug. 17 issue. Wentworth is the star and co-creator of the hit comedy "Head Case" on the Starz network. She is also the wife of political commentator George Stephanopoulos, host of "This Week on ABC." The couple live full time in Washington, D.C. with their two daughters, and have recently been named to Washington Monthly's list of "Sizzlingest Power Couples" there.

But summers are spent on the East End. Public records show they purchased a home on Clover Leaf Lane in East Hampton for just under $2 million in 2004.

Wentworth tells Hampton Style that she enjoys the local social scene on her own terms, "which means, two social events a summer." The comedian attends Super Saturday, which benefits the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, "because I like to reel in a good bargain." Another favorite, she says, is the Jessica Seinfeld's Baby Buggy event (she's married to Jerry Seinfeld), which helps supply clothing and children's equipment for needy families. "I am in awe of how fantastically those charities are run."

What's her fantasy of a great Hamptons night? Cocktails with Jay-Z, Martha Stewart and Kimora Lee Simmons on David Geffen's yacht, followed by a clambake with Richard Gere and Joan Didion, and finally watching HBO and eating tacos at her house.

In the Hamptons, it could happen.
