How to Volunteer at Baby Buggy
We have volunteers assist us every day from a variety of corporations, schools, organizations, and youth groups. We would never be able to do the work that we do without the help of our volunteers! We are always in need of volunteers to help with an assortment of tasks such as prepping and bundling donations, and sorting and repairing new clothing samples. Baby Buggy depends on volunteers to help prepare infant items for distribution to the families in need; in fact, we use over 500 hours of volunteer time each month. Whether you volunteer at our site, or at yours, or coordinate a drive, we would love the help!
Individuals
Baby Buggy has been fortunate enough to have New York Cares volunteer evenings every Tuesday and Wednesday, from 6-8pm. If you would like to help through NY Cares, please visit www.nycares.org or call 212-228-5000 and ask for Volunteer Relations.
Corporate Volunteer Opportunities
If you would like to organize an on-site community service volunteer event for a group of employees at your company, we would love to have your help! Several of our corporate donors, including Credit Suisse and Eileen Fisher, have already assisted Baby Buggy in this way. As well, please contact us if you are interested in having a team of colleagues volunteer at our Baby Buggy warehouse, which is conveniently located at 306 West 37th Street on the 8th Floor in Manhattan.
Youth and School Volunteer Opportunities
Please contact us if you would like to organize a volunteer event for your school, team, club, or youth organization. We are able to organize events at our Baby Buggy loft, as well as on-site events at your school. All drives must be coordinated with the Baby Buggy staff to help us manage the incoming donations. Please contact us before organizing a drive.
Drives
One of the wonderful ways that Baby Buggy receives donations is through gently used and new essentials drives that are held on our behalf. Please contact us if would like to learn more about having your corporation, school, church, or other organization coordinate a children’s clothing and gear drive for Baby Buggy.
Please contact our Volunteer Program Manager, Elizabeth Smith, at elizabeth@babybuggy.org to learn more about how you and your group can help improve the lives of New York City’s children in need.
